You coutd also make some small gains - lose a washer from behind the bolt head, lose a single spacer washer, add a spacer washer to small space to push the spring inward, move the u bolt clamp a mm outwards = you've them gained almost another 5mm.
if I remember from mine, I've not got huge amount of space. You can just make it out on the photo - and I think the armstrong damper plater is thinner than the rutherford plate.
