If the loom socket doesn't have enough spare cable wrapped away to reach, I would be tempted to obtain fresh female pins and extend the cables to loom socket to reach the plug on lamp. AMP Econoseal connectors are readily available on eBay.

When this light made of "gold" arrives, I will cut into the loom and see if the wire is long enough to reach. I am hoping it is just wrapped up in there.
