Welcome Menm, I bought a 1996 +8 which had averaged 800 miles a year. I had no problems but I guess it'll depend how often it's been used recently, my recommendation is simply to use it as much as you can, give it a good blast and enjoy it as often as possible.
I don't have wire wheels but the guys who do have say that they're a b*gger to clean
...but they do look great!
