Starting point: 1L of petrol has 8.9kwh available, so the 70L tank of my C63 has 623kwh, it is recharged in about 3 minutes and weighs about 75kg, including the tank.
The largest capacity EV battery is 100kwh from Tesla = 11.23 liters equivalent and takes 30 to 60 mins to re-charge.
OK, that Tesla can get a real world range of 300 miles from 11.23 L of petrol shows just how inefficient ICE cars are.
My C63 weighs 1730kg, kerb weight.
A Tesla Model S, 100kw, weighs 2241kg so 500kg more, most of which is the battery.
I'm still offended that the car has to carry half a ton of batteries.
Hydrogen fuel cell electric cars are the future: they will be roughly the same weight as an ICE car, have the range of and ICE car, but the efficiency of an EV.
Refilling a hydrogen tank will take 5 mns.
I'm waiting for Hydrogen power to arrive....
