Hope everyone had the best possible Christmas under the present circumstances !!!!...

So..just a muse...

We Trad Morgan owners understand our kingpins and are fanatical about wear,grease type,nipple configuration and material manufacture.

I want to tell you a story...

I have come to the end of a 6 week recommission/rebuild on my 1970 Citroen AK350 chicken shed on wheels.

On its first shakedown drive after been stood in a French field for 8 years there developed a loud rumble as the speedo reached 60mph..I decided not to press further and returned to check wheel bearings...and while I was in there have a look at the kingpins.


Surprisingly the king pins were the originals (50years old!!!) and were well greased and within specification !!!.




The wheel bearings were also 50 years old and shot !!!..also a real bugger to get out .

Total parts bill:...kingpins/wheel bearings both sides £54 !!!

The van runs well now..so funny to see speedo on max stop ..recorded 74 mph on gps..hooligan van.

So..

If you are in your Morgan and see a fast approaching Citroen van with lights blazing and flashing...don't be afraid its probably me !!!

If however you are in your classic Citroen and you see a fast approaching +4 Supersports with lights blazing and flashing..don't be afraid..its probably me !!
