If you're talking about the gaiter for the Jack Knight steering racks, they are a fairly regular MOT failure because the quality is cr+p! Someone is making a killing at around £100 a pop, fitting extra, + VAT! My 1994 +8 is still on it's first gaiter. My 2002 4/4 is on it's 5th. That doesn't seem like consistent quality over the years to me.
