The trick is to wait after the click to let the tanks balance out and then go on filling till it clicks again. Continue repeating this process till the delay before it clicks is only a couple of seconds and then stop. If you do over fill just open the filler cap to let a bit of air in and you should be able to drive on with no more trouble.
One of the additional features of the roll hoops is to enable shaking of the car to help the tanks balance.
