A steering wheel spacer helps enormously with the legroom, I use a 1" spacer and a Moto-Lita 13" steering wheel (the standard is 14").
At 6 ft this allows me to get my left foot flat on the floor.
Moto-Lita have a couple of standard 14" wheels for the M3W but I had a custom 13" one made (which bizarrely worked out cheaper!).
