I admit to owning a 600mm breaker bar but use and carry with me one of those pressed steel spinner tools, little over 400mm in length. A few heaves on that tightens and removes to what I regard as sensible torque.


Just checked my Britool breaker bar. 58cm knuckle to very the end, 50cm ‘ish to where I would apply pressure. I am fairly lightweight so I feel this is okay. Watched the garage hammer my rears on then a few days later removed them for cleaning using the breaker. Expected a fight but they came off almost too easily! The front ones I had earlier tightened with the bar came off with a similar level of grunt as those the garage had hammered on. So I think I am happy enough with the breaker
