Two cracking pics there Richard, thanks for posting. It seems possible that the French find more value in the acquisition and wearing of patina in their old cars than do we or the Americans as looking new or better than new seems to be the holy grail in many cases...?
A while back I posted a pic I took at the last LM Classic of a well patinated Bugatti that had a new tyre fitted by the company that was on site to supply such services. I do not know the story behind the Bugatti appearing with three suitably patinated wonderful alloy wheels and one polished to perfection wheel...? I suspect the tyre fitter may have wondered at the construction of the drum and wheel as a one piece alloy casting and thought it deserved extra attention...Yikes..!
Seems to beg the question, can you get OCD relative to the preservation of patination...?
