I have been to Morocco a few times doing Rally Raids.
We have gone the Almeira Nador route - and you can get local insurance inside the port.
You will find the local youths are handy bowlers of rocks - I have had my windscreen smashed by one - they missed my friend and reloaded and got moi, I have seen old ladies lobbing rocks at German registered service vans.
More important is to get good health insurance for yourself & occupants ( hospitals are very basic and private ones are not much better) - remember you import the car into Morocco and can not leave without being with the car - I know a guy that needed to go home and he was knocked back at the airport as he had no vehicle !
Local mechanics are very resourceful and can mend most mechanical items.
