And, to be fair, as the name of our state (for better or worse) is 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' the GB sticker hasn't been correct since the Twenties (presumably it was used before then and no-one felt the need to change it?) .... however in these days of Identity Politics it had become an issue for some people. Don't throw your old one away ... demographics dictate that NI will likely vote for re-unification sometime in the future and it may or may not go back 🙂

Ps ... looked it up and the whole country plate thing started in 1949 .... presumably at that time GB was felt to be suitably all-encompassing.?
