For those who lust after pre WWII Bugattis attending the Bugatti owners day at Prescott is an essential bucket activity.
The noise, the smells, from those running "trick" fuel, the aggression as owners take £2m cars up the hill. Utter Magic!
Looking under the bonnet and over the cars the engineering is to be marvelled at: 2.3L, supercharged, OHC straight 8 with 138bhp at 6000 rpm.
Not bad at all in the late 1920s, or the 1960s for that matter.
Peter ... there's always a class for Bugattis, even at the British Hillclimb rounds .... goes with the territory 🙂
Love everything about them (even the lack of creature comforts) ... but when those racers fire up even I need hearing protection .... got a real crack to it. For you southerners it's old news, but a trip to Prescott and a wander round the museum .... followed by a sit out in the sun with a pint of their own brew watching the racecars fly past is a slice of petrolhead heaven .... wish I was off there this weekend but my trips south are rationed this year .... but missing Prescott is hitting the hardest (though I do have Gurston and Shelsley to perk me up May/June 😁 ... hopefully with the racer at those two!! )
