While on the subject of hoods....I have recently noticed a part of the hood frame on my Roadster has a couple of elongated slots, are the bolts which pass through supposed to be tightened in "the optimal position" or free to move as part of the hood folding mechanism ? (One side is tight, the other slides).
My car had only one side tight! I used the slots to provide adjustment for the hood “prongs” to sit correctly over the catches and the screws are tight.
