It is a coincidence that we are on the highway at the moment, driving from The Hague back to Cologne. We had 4 wonderful days with our travel group. The Louwmann Museum I will definitely visit soon, it was not a program item for our group of 10, I wanted to visit it today before everyone went home with my wife and two friends but unfortunately it is closed on Mondays.
We had more Caribbean than Dutch weather, it was wonderful to walk on the beach of Scheveningen on Friday (quickly reached by streetcar) and in the evening to stop at a very good fish restaurant at the harbor (in our case „de dagvisser“). And it was wonderful that we had a day visiting the beautiful city of Leiden (20 minutes by train).
The Hague gives a very lively feeling of well being with many young friendly people. We were very positively taken and I can recommend this city to everyone. It is also touristy but not as crowded as Amsterdam and therefore very pleasant and I have the impression that most of the nice people were locals who themselves enjoy sitting on the beautiful squares, in cafes, restaurants or e.g. in the microbrewery "The animal army", which offered us very good beer in several varieties on tap. A nice walk to the Royal Castle in the park and past the Parliament is also recommended.
