Found this image of my car being built John. It shows that with the central part of transmission cover removed (not sure how easy but seat removal at least) you should be able to see grease nipples by looking into gearbox cover area above driveshaft. You can also see the wider gap between seat boards and how the handbrake cable is P clipped to edge of n/s board, out of the way.
