Definitely stick with the alloys - the ride and handling is so much better. I have had Roadsters with both wire and alloy wheels and would never choose wires again.
Agreed, stick with the alloys, lighter, easier to keep clean, easier to balance, no spines to wear out, still a good range of tyres available...that's why I have them on the 3.7
