I would like to thank all those Morganeers on this forum for their help and ideas just recently when I was doing my front suspension on the Plus 8.
Especially Grumpy 2 for his idea and photos of the spring compressor.
I made it as he showed and it worked very well for just enough compression to get the spring under the top frame easily.
I now have the "Mulfab" bearings and Brake Reaction Bars fitted
I have been for a short (but quick) run and found the front end has lost 90% of the "jiggle" it had when hitting bumps and undulations. It also felt stiffer with the Brake Reaction Bars.
Weird thing though, when I stripped the front suspension I found another bearing on top of the stub axle between it and the original Brass Steering Damper, then the spring on top of the Brass Damper as per normal.
Not sure of the thinking behind that, I haven't seen any sign of one in the diagrams I have been looking at so far.
Anyway, glad to get it back on the road and thanks again everyone.
This forum is the "BEST".
Happy Miles
Bryan.
