Thanks again for the suggestions. As posted earlier, I fitted a new pump and filter as per the group instructions and all running again. Thanks to Ian and Andrew for the write up information.

A couple of things I can add to them for next update; the kit supplied by Glencoe contains everything except the spade connectors and fuel filter. The Walbro filter supplied comes filled with oil! I didn't know that as it's not been mentioned before. I decided to leave it filled when fitting as presumably it helps to get it flowing, lubricates the metal pump and, I understand, Walbro pressure test them at the factory.

Also note, the new mesh filter in the kit has a small tab where it fits the pump. Unfortunately if you try to fit the locking washer over the plastic tip it won't fit over (wrong size). Furthermore, the locking tab puts the filter in the wrong position when you re attach the pump base rubber and plastic feet. So the tab needs to be removed with a sharp blade to allow the filer to be turned 90 degrees in the correct orientation.

Another final thing I learned, which I expect a few others may have thought about. I couldn't get my head round the fact you have an open, positive and negative terminal completely exposed in the fuel tank. I couldn't work out how the whole thing doesn't go bang given its immersed in petrol. Well not having done physics at school it turns out that petrol does not contain Ions, so is in effect completely non conductive. Well bugger me!! 🤪😬🤣🙃🫠
