What I intended to say is that if the car has to have an inspection, similar to the MOT test, then it may be safer to fit the standard hex nut. Actually I suspect most examiners would not even know, or care, that the car can not be homologated with (eared) spinners.

I'm sorry if anyone thought I was suggesting the spinners should be changed simply if one is crossing the channel.
