Or just operate the starter - if the starter 'whirls' then rollers failed.

You could get just the inner Centa rotor modified whilst engine is out for replacing the rollers - much more cost effective solution for you than sending the engine to PB.
You still need the hole put into the bell housing. You can then change the rollers without engine removal same as PB version.
I have carried out 5 of these rotor upgrades so far and no problems encountered - its a lot less involved than removing the complete Centa from the engine and avoids 'breaking' the connection between crankshaft and Centa and therefore the spline issue.
