If I am not mistaken, the 968CS was the last lightened/track focused Porsche that cost less than the standard model on which it was based.
just don't mention the R26R ;-)
It didn't cost less than the standard model... Renault were more than happy to increase the price
I stand by my comment above, I believe the 968CS was the last track focused Porsche to cost less than the standard model; it may, in fact, be the last track focused car by any car manufacturer to cost less than the standard model. Most car makers aren't silly, when one noticed a niche they can exploit, pretty soon they are all onboard with the new revenue stream!
