A question about preparing the engine before walnut blasting the inlet tract:
How do you turn the engine as required in order to make sure the valves are fully closed?
And how do you assess they are fully closed?
What I did (informed from what I'd seen elsewhere online, mostly in a You Tube video guide) was turn the crank with a socket on the front pulley bolt and knowing when each piston was at TDC by removing the spark plugs and having a long screwdriver carefully poked down the plughole, resting on the relevant piston crown - making sure it wasn't getting jammed at any point, which it never felt like it would.
