A friend has a van (not white) but has had it broken into a couple of times now and is getting hacked off. Alarms don't seem to deter anymore, smash and grab is the name of the game but the repair costs and insurance impact are out of proportion. I suggested a couple of 1 farad capacitors on the door handles but apparently Her Majesty's commented that he might be put in a cell for that one.

He now has some small movement sensors mounted low down covering the side and back doors. This is linked to a big pair of woofers. Literally. If it senses someone close to the doors it sets off the BIG dog barking noises and the woofers shake the car like a wild animal. He has some great CCTV covering the van when it occurs and it is brilliant to watch.

Score one for the goodies.
