My 1980 +8 with a John Eales 4L HS6 SU Carbs with uprated kenlowe fan, oil cooler, ali rad, big bore manifolds (unwrapped) is struggling to restart in warm/hot weather. Replaced fuel pump with a new facet pump, no improvement. Have covered 250k miles all over Europe, always use E5 and have never had this problem until this year. On restart you can hear the pump repriming/building up pressure and the car will restart in around a minute.
Anyone having a similar problem? Any thoughts?
