Imperial split pins are getting a bit hard to find though. All of the assorted split pins sold these days are metric sizes.
A 1953 car should have a 3HA but to be honest things like the hub securing nut are common to both the 3HA and 7HA axles so it's probably the right nut despite the 7HA part number. Interestingly the 3HA and 7HA inner oil seal carries a 3HA part number
