Welsh for....saucepan.
Llanelli, my home town, was a big player in the metals industries. Steel, foundries, copper, and tinplate. Tinopolis is a nickname for the town as it was the world centre for tinplate and still has Trostre tinplate works ( Tata owned). Tin cans using Llanelli tinplate were used on Scott's fatal S Pole expedition, Felinfoel brewery in the town were the first to introduce canned beer ( screw top cans). There's a S4C ( welsh tv/radio) studio in the town named Tinopolis.
In the town we had the " stamping works" where they made saucepans. No longer there. Llanellj RFC had saucepans on the tops of their rugby posts. The posts are now moved to two locations, one near me on the reclaimed site of Duport Steel where I once worked, with a cut-out of Phil Bennet beneath it. The other is by Loughor bridge between Llanelli and Swansea. To remind the "Swansea Jacks" they are entering the wonderfull world of the Turks ( nickname for us). Great rivalry over the years!

Turk, Welshcake, cockle eater and a couple unrepeatable.
9-3 ....I was there. No doctor's paper next day though, I was still "happy" after the party when we drank the pubs dry.
