When I repatriated myself to the UK around 2011 I travelled everywhere by train or bus having spent the previous 12 years living on a sailing yacht. By then I had my bus pass and an annual seniors rail pass. At that time I owned neither car nor motorbike and having spent so many years on the boat didn't miss them. I did have access to my partners car when needed but hancoured after a classic vehicle so in 2015 bought a 1960 Velocette Venom, a 1966 Land Rover then a new Morgan M3W followed - the rest is history wink

Rail and bus travel are a relaxing way of seeing the countryside as is travelling at 3 mph on a narrowboat I later found.
