My wife thinks I live in there already.
You might want to get the garage heated for winter and cooled for summer. When you get kicked out for putting the car first it will make it more comfortable (joke, i think)

Maybe the feelings do wear off, but mine haven't in more than 6 years.
As for a heated garage; mine now is and is also the only room in the house with a ceramic tiled floor!!
