I too, in common David Foster, bought my first Morgan at the age of 18 from Morris Stapleton's - a rather tired 1963 4/4, Reg 7168 RH, Chassis No: B669, but mine cost me the princely sum of £485! (Mind you, this was in 1969 & it only came about because my dad won some money on the Pools!)I wonder where she is now?
Over the last 43 years I have owned a few classics - a Bristol 408 (whatever was I thinking? Right car but the wrong age at the time!), a Marcos 1600, an AC 3500ME, a DS or two to name but a few, but I've always gone back to my first love - a Morgan (it must be in my blood) & I have always had a 2CV in the garage - every home should have one!
My present Morgan is a 1992 Plus 4 M16 which has had some nice conversions done by Allon White's - hood, seats etc.
I am now happily retired in France with my wife & owning a classic car has proved a great way of meeting people.
As the name 'Alistair' has been taken, I chose 'esse16' as my user name. Esse is the village where we live in department 16 - only 60km from Angouleme & handy for the 'Circuit de Remparts' if anybody fancies a cuppa?
