Since taking delivery of my car it has been dripping gear oil from the bottom of the bellhousing area. It was obviously coming from the front seal on the gearbox.
Because of this, today I decided that I would check the gearbox oil level. When I removed the level / filler plug, I was shocked as about half a pint of oil ran out.
The gearbox was way over filled, I don't know how this was possible to easily achieve. The oil must have been added with the garbox on its side or else it is filled from the top and not checked.
If your M3W is also dripping like this, check the oil level.
It would be interested to know if there are any more like this.
