The AutoZug from Dusseldorf down to Alessandria in Italy is a good one. Very popular with both bikes and classic cars wanting to break the back of the journey. Did it last year on the bike.

Dean, have a look at railsavers.com too, they often come up with deals if you register - route Holland to Italy.

In a couple of weeks we're off through France, driving the Route des Grandes Alps, lots of B nd B's there, and on into Italy for a few days near the Cinque Terre. We then put the car on the train at Livorno, and get off in Holland the following day.

The mountains in Northern Spain (Picos de Europa)are amazing to drive through, but not many B nd B's there.
