The near continent is more fun simply because the roads are almost empty.
I'll second that. The roads of South East England seem to be busy at all times - over here in France there are moments when the roads are busy but by and large driving in rural france is a pleasure. One of the joys of the Morgan is that it encourages a style of driving that motivates me to try and take the routes nationales & routes départmentales where possible instead of just banging down the motorway from A to B as fast as I can, maybe breaking the journey in an auberge and discovering parts of the country that in a tin top would otherwise would just have flashed by in a blur.
