The Morgan Plus 8 is my runaway favorite, but you must be looking for something more comfortable. Here in America the choice would be the Mustang, which has V8 engines in all flavors and all vintages from 1965 to 2012. Crude but effective, and has small rear seats for kids.

No problem with small rear seats. My "kid" is 28, and she has her own car  Still undecided.... I saw a beautiful '59 Chevy pickup truck the other day... One like this:  ... yeh, but if you want the noise it can't be a flat plane engine.Plus, if you want simple, uncomplicated power, the American cast iron Vees are the way to go. Sinmn, as you know, I love 'stangs but what's wrong whith the Chevy block in a 'Vette? You can run it through something like an Edelbock system and what more do you want

A beaut IVO you lucky boy Thank you It needs some love and care, but the substance is good. The engine and automatic transmission both run smoothly, the body is intact, everything works, very little rust, no holes. To start with, I will change the tires. The old ones still look good, plenty of profile, no cracks, but I'm afraid, that they are very old. ...I even could not find a DOT Number  For the rest, I will do a "rolling restauration" (Do you say so?) ... A car, that's older than me... I can't beleive it. Last week, I finaly decided, that it's a Chevy pickup, that I want, and about the same day, the previous owner (he lives about one mile from my place !) decided to sell. Sunny greetings, Ivo
