Hi Bob, My Knob came from http://www.passionauto.co.uk/categorylist/cars-interior-gear-knobs/ £9.95 Rover knob just screws (twists) off and the Alloy one uses a plastic sleeve and allen screws. It shortens the height of the shaft and makes the gear change feel nicer. Gets warm on long runs, nice in the winter, regards john k
Have just ordered one. I agree the standard knob makes the shaft too tall. The difference on my 4/4 of fitting the librands shift was excellent so I am hoping for the same. Plus keping my hand warm in winter drivng to the Jolly Tanners Arms for the London to Brighton

One of what I am sure will be many questions to come. Has anyone fitted an iPhone mount to the dash so it can be used for Satnav etc? Also is there an aftermarket speaker system that can be fitted so that I can hook up my iPhone for music?
Thanks in advance.
Speakers? If you can hear anything from the speakers you arent driving it vigorously enough. You'll be wanting aircon next!

Yep! Got them both.
The speakers are fine up to about 100 km/h. On roads where the limit is less than 80 a bit of music is good to have. Must get a copy of The ride of the Valkyries for going up the mountain passes.
Aircon: about 40 years ago on a hot summer's day in Oz I swore I would never own another car without aircon. When the sun starts to fry out your brains, the UV cream is starting to melt on your arms, and your shirt begins to look like a dishcloth a bit of cool air blowing on the delicate parts is not bad. The only time I wanted to try it with the top up it was nearly 40 degrees on the Autostrada and we discovered there had been a loose fitting and we had lost the gas.

It is a fair point but every once in a while it is good to have some tunes to compliment the drive.

I have a feeling you are serious. My comment was facetious in the extreme - we have aircon in all our cars for just the reason you state. But I didnt somehow think it went with the Morgan ethos and sliding pillar suspension etc. Thought you chaps were tonneau covers all year round and left such luxuries as aircon to us modern car wimps.
TBH I have been known to use the aircon in the Elise even with the top off. Problem is that air comes out of what is a cr*p ventilation system at 10C above ambient with no heat on at all ( tested with temp probe)so on a hot sunny day with no roof on you can really cook.
I chose not to have aircon in my new Roadster - on the basis I'm not sure I would feel the benefit with the top down. Apart from one car with aircon blasting through the seats, I've yet to find aircon with the top down gives any benefit. Plus, I live in England, where the weather is broken.
