The new Fiat 500 L could almost be mistaken for a 4 door Mini.

I must say I do not like the treatment of the wheel arches nono They would look much better if they were round.

Yes those arches are not doing the lines any favours and I thought the wheels look small also.
Clearly Italy is not as close to Germany as I'd thought.

I wonder if this one will be built in Poland at the Ka/500 plant.

Only thing is it's not so mini these days . Looked at one parked next to other larger car's and it looks as big . I have yet to spot a new one standing next to a proper mini in a car park . Thought it was the dog's bit's when it came out but not so sure now a bit like the VW Beatle . Agree wheel arches are odd shape you have a keen eye for detail Peter maybe square wheels would sort it out. getcoat

I had a Lancia Fulvia in the early 70s and it put me off Italian cars like Alfa , Fiat .( moved over to Volvo's ) It dropped to bits in my garage everytime I closed the door or boot lid a bit fell off on the floor it was just a bag of rust with the salty air up here . I called it my bag of crisps because if I swept up the bits of rust it looked like I had spilt a packet.

Do you remember the saga of the Lancia Beta Coupes? Lovely looking car, but it rusted as soon as a cloud appeared in the sky.
As to the new Fiat 500, I'm not sure; but friend that have modern Fiat Pandas really rate them.

Looks like Fiat designers got the old blamonge mould out of the back of the pattern makers store.

Still, styling's not everything...might be a good car.
Time will tell.
