Why don't the factory do it properly and fit run flat tyres. Anyone who's ever had a puncture and tried to repair it with that gunky stuff (me included) knows it's a hopeless task.

Plus 8 - £85 grand and no spare wheel. I shall stick with my Roadster and Britannia rescue who I have found to be excellent on the rare occasions I needed their help.  Yes Brittania service is very good having needed it twice on the same journey in my wifes VW GTI intermittent flywheel rev counter. We have 3 cars and 2 drivers covered in anyone elses vehicle you are travelling in for £90-00 which I think is a fair price. No connection with the firm other than a happy customer.

No spare wheel required, just look at the car whilst you are awaiting recovery, you will enjoy every minute

Even when your car has no spare I would buy a spare wheel/tyre and keep it at home. Then in the event of a puncture you have the option of recovery home without the aggro of finding a replacement tyre in a hurry. This year I had a puncture at noon the day before I was booked on a 6am Channel Tunnel crossing. Paul Harris Tyres had me fixed up the same day but at a weekend it woud have been a problem

Do Britannia cover classic cars too?
Some don't seem to take motors over a certain age...

If you use Autoaid Breakdown Cover (through Boncaster), they cover you and not the car, even if you are in someone else's car they become covered because you are travelling with them. Makes sense to me, used them man and boy.

I presently have personal cover, but the price is going up rapidly since they were taken over. The discounts have gone, so it's time to search again.
