Morgans at Algarve Classic Racing - October 2012
Some photos taken on my brief visit to the Algarve last week. The Autodromo circuit near Portimao hosted the Algarve Classic Race festival. Two Morgan SLR race cars entered the Sports and GT car race with the green SLR of Keith Ahlers and Billy Bellinger finished fourth overall after two long hours of racing. Sue Darbyshires pre war Three Wheeler once again took on a smattering of Pre War Bentleys.
A Plus 8 driven by MSCC members Phil and Margaret Parkes drove all the way down to view the event. Thye were given the honour of leading a parade of classic cars around the circuit on the Sunday.. and despite it pouring with rain they were of course "top down"..

Hi SpeedMog,
Yes it was my first time at Portimao, trying to get a bit of sun before Winter set in, it worked on the saturday but not Sunday!
Not really enough time to explore the circuit fully but its a great place.
