Morgan have apparently held an "Emergency Meeting" to look into the problem - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...ition-risk.htmlI hope they have enough Ash to last for the next 12 months or so. I wonder how much the factory stockpiles?

Perhaps the time has come for MMC to consider the use of alternatives. There are not many timbers available with the characteristics of Ash to give the strength and flexibility required for a traditional Morgan body shell. Personally I'd be looking at replacing the ash frame on the Aero range with something like carbon fibre and preserve what stocks of Ash there might be to be used exclusively on the Trads. If the worst happens and thanks to Government inabilities AND the tree industries lack of concern....lets face it, the fungal die back on the continent has been known for quite some time and yet ash saplings have continued to be imported.....and Ash is wiped out, perhaps Morgan will move to a common bonded alloy chassis

I have an unwanted (large) ash tree in my garden, may be I will give then a ring if they get desperate!!!

If thousands of trees are felled, surely MMC would have years of stock right there....

That's an old photo from 2005. The giveaway is the pink/purple Roadster in the background and Lightsphere's Roadster - now replaced.................
Predictable 'mostly brainless' comments under that article.

If thousands of trees are felled, surely MMC would have years of stock right there.... I believe the current recommendation is to burn all affected wood to destroy the fungus

Latest news on MMC's website is that they won't be affected by this disease. I hope they're right.
