Folks, I would like to tap into any local knowledge for the Blakeney/Forest of Dean area please.
I have a family weekend in May next year at GL15 4AY and have the dubious honour of being events 'manager' for 14 people from teens to 60+; that's pubs, food and any bright ideas really!

Symonds YAT is very pleasant. I wish I'd known it was an old railway line when we visited. Goodrich Castle is also good and can't be far away as we went there on the same day out.

Depending on dates, check out the Severn Bore. www.severn-bore.co.ukWe watch it a Minsterworth. In May 2013, the bores will not be huge, however, your party of all ages will be safe.

Thanks folks. That should keep us busy for a weekend. Especially building a barrage Sadly will be too early in the month for the bore but we can always go hunting for the other type, then eat one in a local pub!
