It may be that they are fitted by Aero Racing. After market parts that can be ordered from the factory and are not part of the homologation specifications (different dampers, exhaust system etc) are fitted by Aero Racing which is a separate workshop that operates within the factory grounds (if you see what I mean).

That's a possible explaination. If so, I would be happy for Aero Racing to fit as it would still be covered by the Factory warranty. I am not so sure about a dealer fit. And would they do as good a job as the factory?

The colour of your car looks fab Neil with that deep shine, which seems to be only doable with Non Metallic colours shades sunny .

Did you have Bonnet Louvers deliberately omitted to take the Bonnet strap or are they just hidden in the Sheepskin?

Hi Frank..... I think the light was just right (3.30pm on a perfectly cold Autumnal day) just as the sun was going down.

Because the bonnet strap was fitted by the factory, it is the factory that omit the louvres, not deliberate on my part. In fact I didn't realise that I would be forever committed to the strap because of the louvres....

On to the side lights. I'm not TOTALLY sure they were fitted by the factory, however my recollection is that the factory fit them but the dealer has to wire them up.

I will search back through my paperwork and edit this post to tell you the cost.

Found it! How organised of me. £300.

Thanks. I hate the idea of anyone other than the factory drilling into the wings. Perhaps I am being unfair to the dealer !

That is the first time i have ever noticed this feature. I will now always check other Bonnet Strap users for Factory or Retro Fitted straps. sherlock

My '76 4/4 came with a bonnet strap from the factory but with all the louvres. Is this a recent modification?

I don't know why the factory insists on fitting the bonnet strap with the buckle on the offside as the frequently checked items, dipstick, coolant level and washer bottle level are all on the nearside on the 3 litre engine. Is the 3.7 the same?
Don.
