Hi Davmog,
Remember the spinners have to be undone according to the arrow on the spinners.
That is the left hand side has to be undone the opposite way to the right hand side.

The MG Car club has a long spanner for 2 eared spinners which works very well and is relatively cheap. Alternatively there are some extremely beautiful and expensive removal tools available on the web.

I have one of these but have to say, the first time I tried to use after a service where they used their Mallet, I could not shift the spinner.
I am not a weak man, but the increase in blood pressure gave me a nose bleed.
So on the Grande Tour, I left it at home and took my rubber windbreak mallet which works fine. Probably their Mallet makes the spinner too tight? What do people think? irked

Long-handled wheel nut spanners – true, I don’t have spinners, but I bought this recently for the hex nut . So far only managed to loosen one of the four. It’s not nose-bleeds that worry me, but my back. However, I won’t be beaten and I feel that with this implement or a 2lb Thor dead-blow hammer + supplied small wheel nut spanner I can make a road-side wheel change fairly pdq.
Electric jack – no good; as Gambalunga pointed out, this won’t go under a car with deflated tyre.
Manual jack – now, after hours of practice with the silly little supplied jack handle, I can raise the car at either end enough to get an inflated wheel on.
Tyre sealant – a number of contradictory views here but, on balance, I don’t think I’ll use it. The clincher was that my local Morgan dealer said they wouldn’t recommend it at speeds around the legal limit.

Trad Morgans can be prone to suffering with out of balance wheels, particularly the front causing shimmy.

I know you're not going ahead with it, but I'd also want to be certain the tyre sealer was compatible with the sealing band in the wheel rim...

I was at the local tyre shop and he tried all of his hammers/mallets and the spinners have a direction arrow on them so no confusion there but all to no avail. I may try the thor hammer mentioned. Just hope the tyre isn't flat again when I return to the UK.
Thanks again.
