Richard - I could and will but it's a "roundtoit" as was refitting the outer mounting of the passenger seatbelt which the factory had fitted ready-twisted!

You can't beat Simmonds Twin Buckle Strap!

On the smaller (certainly earlier engines in 4/4 +4) they're on the offside... smile

I have been thinking of the Simmons strap as an after purchase if I can't resist a bonnet strap.

Do you have the missing louvres on your 4/4 Jays? Have you noticed any bonnet scratching from the straps?

Do you seriously expect MMC to try to make anything user-friendly?

i thought the idea behind purchasing a Trad Model was so you could spend more time fiddling with it, surely thats part of the attraction.

Maybe that's what the old-fart polishers are content to do. Personally, I want mine to be a reliable, user-friendly drive.

I fitted mine after I bought the car, so no missing louvres. The straps been on now for about 18months and there is no sign of any paint damage. I like the twin buckle one...less straps to have to tuck away when washing the car. They do stretch though.....in my case for at least 6 months and I had to trim and refit it a few times.
