I have to agree with all thats been said about Stathstone. I have bought Moggies from both Brands Hatch and Stratton Motor Company and both times have found the experience to be exceptional!! We need to keep suporting our current dealers who not only sell cars but ( in my experience ) are able to give expert help often over a cup of tea and invariably free.
Keep supporting the little guy!!!

I had a similar experience about five years ago, I was looking for a new tin top and several people had recommended Lexus, so I took myself along to the local dealership. After looking around at various cars, and being ignored, I approached the young blonde girl at the reception desk and asked if someone could help me. She disappeared for a couple of minutes then returned and said that no one was available at the moment ( it was a Saturday and there was no one else in the showroom), I asked for a price list and brochures and she said someone would call me to arrange a test drive. Five days later no one had called so I called them, guess what? No one was available and someone would call me! I explained that I'd already been told that and the girl promised that she'd make sure someone did call me. Of course I never got that call, I figured that if their sales service was so cr*p their after sales service was likely to be non-existent.
I bought another Mercedes, and am unlikely to ever buy a Lexus.
I hope Morgan don't suffer in this way through poor dealer choice.
Before we bought the current C Series, we visited the Honda dealer, the Lexus dealer, the Audi one, two Merc dealers, a car supermarket, the Toyota dealer and the Mazda dealer and the BMW dealer. In every case our experience was the same as yours with the Lexus shop. In one case the saleman told me off for driving wrongly on the test drive - apparently braking an auto with my left foot is not allowed!  In another case I stod and watched a salesman who had said he would be " with us in a minute" stand and talk to his mate, another salesman for a good 5 minutes before I lost it. Contrast that with what happens in a bike shop.

I thought Lexus sold themselves on superior customer service? Or they used to at any rate.
Sounds like something has gone wrong
Never fancied any of the posh Toyota models anyway.

My 'main dealer' experiences over the years has been dreadful, some real horror stories.... The smaller independent dealers selling Morgan seem far more down to earth.

Agree that there is something wonderful about independent Morgan dealerships - I use both SGT & BHM and have nothing but praise for both.
However, I have also had a great experience with Stratstone (Land Rover). The only negative experience I have ever had with a 'plate glass & marble' outfit was with Audi. After running Audis since 1994 I will never have another.

I think what we have with the appointment of "plate glass" dealers is the quandry Morgan finds itself in with their model line-up. Both the trad and the 3-wheeeler suit the enthusiast who is more than keen to live with the character of the car and ownership experience, and would likely prefer the ambiance of the traditional dealer, servive, personal touch etc.
The problem is with the high-end product. It's simply not selling in the nubers Morgan would like. Sure some will sell through trad dealers, but not enough, hence the move to also sell from plate glass dealers who are used to selling Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo etc.
It shouldn't threaten the trad dealers who are far more likely to still be dealers long after the PG dealers have lost interest.

But what doesnt make sense, is MMC is doing half the job, eg they now have PG dealers, but they dont have the car that they can sell. They seem to be going arse about face on this, before they get to the PG dealer they need to have the quality in place, Bentley offer 3 year unlimited miles and Porsche is the same for most models. I cant see pg dealer type buyer wanting current MMC factory quality levels, and the last thing that they should do is burn the wider public and put them off for the future. May be they should start this PGD adventure with the EVA, and really do a good engineering job on it. Just seeing Rene's plus 8 on another thread. As Mini dealership are often separate from the main BMW dealerships, that they would be a more appropriate dealership than the larger plate glass dealerships previous referenced.
In my mind the Mini dealership is half way between the main dealership and the smaller specialist Morgan garages that we love.

Hmmmm.....I think a trip to Stratstones is in order just to see how they are...rather than make assumptions.
