 Jnr just phoned she thinks I can answer everything instantly without seeing it . She has just started packing her 03 Clio to travel home and informs me the near side floor is soaking not in the rear but under the seat and front foot well . She is like most daughter thinks cars never need looking at and go on for ever without a problem . Anyone got any ideas what or where its coming from before she lands on me giving me hell .

has it had a windscreen fitted at any point - sometimes a badly sealed screen could be the cause ??

Quick check on the most obvious? If she is like the lovely Lady Budster  , she would have left the window slightly open. Bud __________ 2003 - 4/4

Does the Clio have an air conditioner ? Then it might be condensate from a misguided/mislocated/punctured drain tube. Or a drain tube from the fresh air intake of the heater might be blocked.

No sunroof , no new windscreen , always cold so no window open .
Just wondering if her boy friends long legs have caught the matrix and dislodged a heater pipe on that side .

If the car is parked under trees all the time....possible problem might be the drain/gutter feature at the base of the front windscreen.
On some cars the water has to drain through a tube or narrow gutter feature. If that gets clogged with leaves or such like the area can flood and that water can sometimes find it's way into the front footwell area.
Happened to me once with a Citroen.

Does she still have water in her washer bottle, as they have a tendency to crack this time of year if she is being a student and not putting washer fluid in just using plain water.

She has just phoned me from her halfway stop . The water bottle is topped up the radiator is ok and the warning lights are also ok . I asked her to put her finger on the wet carpet then taste it if sweet its anti freeze , its not that . Just half to wait and have a look when she arrives I was looking forward to a quiet Christmas some hope of that !
