What do I love:

The driving experience

The style

The camaraderie and the friends I've met

That my car is worth roughly the same as it was when I bought it over 7 years ago

Simples

ps As for leaking hoods, my year old factory replacement vinyl easy-up is really good, and now I have sorted a fix for the water that came in around the sidescreen brackets, the whole car is remarkably dry.

Now theres my man Two tribes. Traction engines are serious money, i would really love afowler ploughing engine, but as you say that would make a couple of aeros look like you average mondeo.

And im pretty sure they could always take a licence for the roof just as they have for the body work.

Now you're talking thumbs

Missed the Steam Plough Club's "Hands On" practical this year as it clashed with other events I was already signed up for...

Topic drift?

For many years I have had the dream of owning a steam launch. Love the near silent chuf-chuf and the fact you always have hot water for a cuppa.

Any steam enthusiasts on the site should make sure they visit Berrybrook, if they are ever travelling near Exeter.
Apart from being Morgan dealers; check out www.berrybrooksteam.co.uk
A Morgan dealer with the background smell of live steam = near to perfection in my book.

In the interests of exacerbating the topic drift on the thread, one of my old colleagues from Southampton University's Ship Science department (who is from Barbados) does a lot of Lloyd's Register's surveying in the Eastern Caribbean.

One of the hangovers from the age of steam is that he gets to inspect the pressure vessels of many of the rum distilleries in the English speaking islands. He therefore is a man who seldom has to pay for his own rum...
