I took the same approach.

I could have saved a few thousand by buying in the uk and doing the importation/ registration myself, but it would have been a lot of time and hassle, and not the best way to start the relationship with the people you want to service your car.

Interestingly, my price was subject to change (and did) based on the exchange rate fluctuation between deposit and delivery.

The dealer has adjusted their price and said that Morgan has raised their MSRP to 25,999 pounds (31k Euro) for 2013. I haven't heard back from Morgan HQ yet Anyone else hear this?

Dealer is still asking for MSRP + 1,100 Euro mark up + 800 for delivery and handling. Total of 39K Euro with taxes. This gets me a week 10 build slot and car delivered in May. The is reasonable-ish to me but paying more than MSRP makes me nervous and I don't want to find out later that I was an over eager fool (it happens enough already!)

So 39,000 Euro with taxes, delivered in May, no extras in included. Is that a fair deal?

Your price sounds ok to me. But I live in Belgium, everything is expensive here...

I think that, given transport, delivery costs, and dealer charges, that 39,000 Euro is more than fair. Don't know about the M3W but on the Plus 4 the LHD price list is higher than the RHD list by about 5%.

We took the option of buying direct from the factory and driving the car back to Italy. We are able to get plates and insurance just with the the invoice, Certificate of Conformity, and a receipt for the tax paid (in Italy). We had a great trip and saved the cost of transport and dealer charges, we were also lucky with exchange rates and saved some there too.

The dealer here has actually been fantastic and I almost regret not placing the order through him. Total saving was about €5K but we probably spent that on airfares, hotels, food and , and petrol, but we had a great trip.

I think, even if I wanted to do the factory delivery again, I would order through the local dealer the next time.

Confirmed with Morgan, the new MSRP for 2013 is £25999.00. Effective 1 Jan.
Accessory prices have increased a a bit as well.

Though this thread is in the 3W section I would like to join with the same question regarding the classic range in general:

The 4/4 basic version e.g. is offered by the MMC (according to the pricelist on their website) at GBP 31.500,- which is with todays exchange rate EUR 36.232.

The same car but lhd is offered by a european dealer at EUR 47.700 which is a plus of more than 30% (both prices are from the 2012 price lists!).

I know, buying a Morgan is not a rational thing but such a difference is irrational as well. Is there something in the pricing I am not aware of?

Of course there are some additional costs for transport, registration, etc. (besides the "lhd surcharge" which is said to be approx. 5%) but that much?

P.S.: The next trip with a rented Mog is already booked

I think the technical term is "getting stiffed". It sometimes happens to us when we compare prices of the same product in the U.S and U.K.


Is it not possible to order a lhd model direct from MMC?
