Couldn't resist - took out my 1 x 3 yesterday in the snow in Surrey. Once out of the garden (tricky and lots of sideways sliding) car was quite easy to handle, but a bit less traction than I expected perhaps. Anyway, one wheel drive at least means you keep drive to the back wheel without excessive wheelspin due to a diff...

Front wheels coped well and reactions from pedestrians and others quite remarkable.

Cleaned the car carefully afterwards - snow packed inside front wheelarches, but the big oddity was the snow that was fired through the hole behind the rear wheel where the knurled wheel is that looks like a fitting for rear light. Here I found dirty snow and stuff sitting on the top of the wooden frame which was very hard to remove - had to use a hair-drier in the end as didn't want to leave salty snow sitting in freezing garage for too long. Managed to ram some kitchen towel through various orifices to dry it out.

Watch out for this dirt-trap! Sorry no pics - put it back together before snapping!

Get a cheap leaf blower to dry out the car after wet trips.

Good idea - I've got one of those I don't use much - from memory it's rather bulky but will give it a go. Might just get my own cheap hair-drier and then I can give the car a blow whenever I feel like it without having to beg my wife.

Could be handy for pre-warming the engine a little before a very cold start - allow the oil to circulate a little easier?? smile

Good thinking - there's a limit to how many things you want to have to beg the wife for.

Because MrsW is a hairdresser (now Ret'd), I've had a steady supply of handed down driers, and presently have three in the garage. Very useful, and can be used to inflate trouser legs on a cold day.
