I know it's not ideal, but the dealer distance means I will have to arrange servicing of my 2008 Plus Four at my local garage.
If anyone has any servicing tips, I will list these and present them to my mechanic as an addition to the standard jobs.
I will also take a look in the handbook.

A spanner check of all the nuts and bolts, but especially the steering and suspension is crucial.
I took my motor to the factory for its first annual service.
The car has been fully stoneguarded (undersealed) and there were witness marks on all the nuts. So I was very pleased with complete job carried out by the factory.

David I think I told you about the lad who has a set up in Dent and does mogs , but I heard the other week he is not well may be back by now . He used to live down your way .

I take my 2000 4/4 to a local garage. He's an 'enthusiast' too, with a '30s Rolls Royce and many years experience and I'm confident in the work he does on the car.

I am keeping him in mind Jack as a dales day trip possibility, but he may be on long term sick. I will check in March.
Not prepared to travel to Winterton so my local mechanic is a plan B.

There is an extensive list for each service level in the handbook for him to follow. Also, In addition to all of the Greasings and Oil and filter changes, Door Hinge and Cobra Screws often need tightening on our Mog.  Leaf Spring Chain Oil Spraying is worth adding in. I quite fancy a Factory Service (car not me!) just to see how well they do, but it would probably require an overnight stay.

I'm with Frank on this. I would also like a Factory service, for the experience. I don't mind overnighting at Malvern because there is great walking there. MrsW is also a fan.
We met an owner on the hills a couple of years ago who had brought his 4/4 Sport for the first service and was spending the day on the hills.

What fixes the cobra to the rear frame. Sports don't hav'em.....
