Graham, have you actually tried this or just surmising?

There are 4 LEDs, and I checked that all 4 light up when connected either with the red (=1w) or the green (=4W). Connecting both made no difference to the max output on mine.

Yes, I did just tape up the red wire out of the way.

No cobra on a '76, so guessing.
If there was no difference between the two they won't make a good replacement for stop / tail bulbs... Or did I misread that bit earlier? smile

I like the fact it also exposes the 'chrome' of the Cobra housing (how long before that needs polishing thinking)
